In 56 more days you will have an opportunity to cast your vote in favor of the man that you believe is best suited to be District Attorney for the counties of Adair, Cherokee, Sequoyah, and Wagoner Counties. The man chosen, the current District Attorney or I, will have the ultimate influence over matters related to justice for the next 4 years.

It is time that the people of these 4 counties have their faith restored in the justice system. That will only happen when violent offenders, child molesters, and drug dealers are sentenced to prison. If this can be done by way of a plea bargain then that is great. If those criminals are not willing to agree to go to prison without a jury trial then I am certain that 12 of his peers would be willing to listen to the evidence and decide his fate. That is what makes our system of justice so great. The defendant and the People have the right to have a jury trial if an agreement cannot be reached as to what sentence is just. If chosen to be your District Attorney, your faith in justice will be restored.

It would be an honor to be selected by the people of this district to restore their faith in our great justice system. It would be a privilege to be your District Attorney. Let’s not lose the hope of a system that offers justice for all. Maybe it has been awhile since that statement has rung true in District 27, but it can be achieved again.
